The Chicago Project on Security and Threats (CPOST) is accepting applications for winter research assistants to support CPOST’s multi-year project on militant propaganda and recruitment.
The position is unpaid and requires an in-person commitment of 10 hours a week during the 10 weeks of the winter quarter.
Selected candidates will fill a crucial role in collecting and analyzing data propaganda videos produced by groups like ISIS, Al Qaeda, The Taliban, Jabhat al-Nusra, and al-Shabaab. They will work on a team of student researchers supporting Professor Robert Pape and CPOST’s senior staff in the production of academic articles and publishable reports.
Candidates with fluency in Arabic and Pashto are encouraged to apply.
