Ava Sharifi is an undergraduate in the College and a research assistant at CPOST. With funding from the university, she spent last summer working in Bolivia to prevent the privatization of water. Her research interests include the comparative politics of Iran and the Andean states of Latin America. This summer, Ava will be working in DC at an NGO helping to document human rights abuses in Iran. Ava is currently a member of the Minerva Project team and assists in analyzing the language of militant propaganda from the Afghan Taliban. She is also working on a new project at CPOST analyzing Iran’s responses to domestic terror attacks.
