Michael Helmy is a third year exchange student from Egypt. He is a member of the Minerva Arabic Video Analysis Team (AVAT), where he assists in analyzing, summarizing and transliterating propaganda videos of ISIS. He is a Political Science major, and minoring in Economics. He is interested in topics related to Social Theory, Political Philosophy, and Postcolonialism. He is on exchange at the University of Chicago until Spring of 2019, and expects to graduate from Cairo University in June 2020.
