In this Op-Ed, Robert Pape discusses pathbreaking research into the student protests that have roiled college campuses after October 7, 2023. The study surveyed 5,000 current four-year college students from more than 600 academic institutions and 5,000 American adults from across the country, fielded from Dec. 14, 2023, to Jan. 16, 2024, which was compared to a previous survey of 8,000 nationally representative American adults fielded last spring.
